In the rapidly increasing tempo of modern culture, I find myself craving connection to something more permanent or eternal. I am attracted to old buildings with marks, layers of paint showing a history revealed through chipped worn layers. My acrylic canvases incorporate the stains and scratches of modern culture revealed by the application and removal of textures and relevant objects that encompass years of unfolding stories. I love to re-create these histories in my work through different materials; sand, flat metal pieces, tossed out wrappers – a chronology of human life and the passage of time.
